Claiming
Who can claim?
Council and housing association tenants in England whose landlord knows about a repair and hasn’t fixed it in a reasonable time.
Do I have to report the repair first?
Yes. Your landlord has to know about a problem, and have a reasonable time to fix it, before you can claim. If you haven’t reported it yet, the claim form shows you how.

Problems your landlord is responsible for, like damp and mould, leaks, broken heating or hot water, electrics, windows and doors, pests, and the structure of the building.
Can I claim if it’s been fixed now?
You may still be able to claim for the time it wasn’t fixed.
Compensation and fees
How is compensation worked out?
Usually as a share of the rent you paid while the problem wasn’t fixed, depending on how long it lasted, how much of your home it affected and how badly.
What does it cost?
Free to check, and we don’t charge you. If a solicitor takes your claim on, they work on a no win, no fee basis and must explain their fee in writing before you agree to anything. If your claim doesn’t succeed, you don’t pay the solicitor a fee.

We may receive a payment from RFLCS Ltd (Home Disrepair Claims) for introducing your claim. It doesn’t come from you. That doesn’t change the fee you pay.
About us
Are you part of my council or housing association?
No. Report Repair is an independent claims management company. We’re not part of any landlord and we don’t work for them.
Why use Report Repair?
A law firm on our panel takes your claim up with your landlord: it asks for the repairs to be done and claims compensation for you, so you don’t have to deal with your landlord on your own. It’s free to check, and if your claim succeeds the law firm’s fee comes out of your compensation.
